This is more of a placeholder of things to come here at Jazz in Chiang Mai.  I’ll be back in Chiang Mai tomorrow and will be systematically (ok, more like randomly, sporadically and conveniently) seeking out each and every jazz club, spot, event or hole in the wall to experience.   I will give an unbiased, straight-shooting review of each spot I hit from my own, newbie’s perspective.

What do you care about a newbies perspective?  I don’t have a great answer for that and hopefully that holds some charm, heh.  This genre of music is something that has been in my blood and soul since I was a child, but is now coming to fruition in my mind as something I hold dear enough to treat as a full time hobby, if not a lifestyle.

Come with my on my meanderings as I learn jazz from its roots all the way to current, modern deviations especially as it pertains to Thailand and Chiang Mai in particular.

If you’re a seasoned jazzophile and are interested in joining up with me (and/or my wife) along this perpetual expedition, your insight and guidance would be most valuable.

Either way, I hope everyone is stream or playing some nice jazz, the flavour of your choice, and have some wonderful red wine next to you as you read this blog, I know I do!
